NM3 x Nick Ross: Material Conversations

Material Conversations is a joint exhibition by NM3 and Stockholm-based designer Nick Ross, centred on a dialogue between wood and metal.
Nick Ross presented nine identical chairs, each produced in a different solid wood. The chairs were displayed in relation to NM3’s bench in raw metals, including copper, brass, black iron, and stamped stainless steel.
The installation brought the two material approaches into direct comparison, highlighting differences in weight, surface, and temperature.
The project builds on Ross’s earlier research first presented at the Swedish Museum of History in 2023.
